Prince 💫 on Snacc
Not only you... I have also created about 6 different apps and many web application but am also having the same issues 😔. it though 🤧.
i might lowkey have a perfectionism problem. 🥲 last year, i built about half of snacc using Laravel. i’ve always loved Laravel and have used it for quite a number of projects, so naturally, it was my first choice. but there was something that just didn’t sit right with me. i wanted snacc to be a very realtime application. i wanted users to receive updates instantly as things happened, without having to refresh or wait around. achieving that level of realtime functionality, alongside things like scheduling, background jobs, and other asynchronous operations, felt like it would require a lot more workarounds than i was comfortable with using Laravel Reverb. then there was the fact that i had built it as a web application rather than a mobile app, which was another thing i wasn’t entirely happy with. i kept feeling like the end product wasn’t going to be what i had envisioned, and rather than settle for something i wasn’t completely satisfied with, i made a decision that, looking back, was probably a little crazy. i scrapped everything and started over. new backend with NestJS. new frontend with React Native. an entirely different architecture. the funny thing is, i even had an earlier version of snacc before that, but i’d already deleted the repository. 😭 sometimes i wonder if this is just me having high standards or if i’m genuinely incapable of leaving things alone once i feel they could be better. either way, that’s how i ended up with what you use now 😏
